Wednesday 21st November

• 10:40 - 11:25 - Paediatric postural seating assessment tips - Joanne McConnell, Clinical Manager, Etac R82
  A review of posture and why we need specialist equipment for children with disabilities.
• 14:45 - 15:30 - A-Z of being a posture management and seating therapist - Alison Johnston, Consultant Physiotherapist, QEF, MNDA and Independent
  A whistle-stop tour through posture management, seating and wheelchairs.

Thursday 22nd November

• 10:40 - 11:25 - Is that crash tested? - Paul Dryer, Joint Head of Rehabilitation Engineering, Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  An introduction and overview of the challenges in use of a wheelchair as an occupied seat in a vehicle.
• 14:45 - 15:30 - Bariatric wheelchair seating: expectations and limitations - Marion May, Clinical Lead/Seating Consultant, AJM Healthcare/Independent 
  Discussing the increasing need for bariatric wheelchair seating provision.

These sessions are ideal for those new to the field of posture and wheeled mobility, professionals referring clients to wheelchair services or anyone who just wants to refresh their knowledge about a specific area of posture and wheeled mobility.

Free ISWP Tasters - Measuring for Wheelchairs Workshop

The International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP) has created a hybrid training course all about assessing for and prescribing basic wheelchairs. PMG will be hosting the course for a second time in 2019. At The Occupational Therapy Show, we are providing an opportunity to take part in a section of the practical training - Measuring for Wheelchairs.

We will be repeating this 1-hour workshop throughout the show, and numbers will be very limited, so please email us to book if you would like to attend! The session is aimed at healthcare professionals new to posture and wheeled mobility, or those referring clients to wheelchair services - if you are not sure whether it will be suitable for you, please get in touch.
