St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Band 6 rehabilitation engineer to join the well established team of rehabilitation engineers based at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton. The successful applicant will join the team of rehabilitation engineers providing services to the wheelchair service at Queen Mary’s Hospital.
Clinics are carried out at the hospital as well as in a number of community locations or clients' homes; a car owner and driver is therefore essential for this post. A highly motivated and organised individual, with an engineering background and preferably with experience of working with people with disabilities, is required to join this busy service.
Working in conjunction with occupational therapists and physiotherapists they will assess, prescribe, design, fabricate, fit and commission custom and non-custom modifications and adaptations to meet the needs of individual clients. The applicant will be expected to participate in the training of others, CPD, audit and evaluation of products. The Trust is committed to personal development and training.
The successful applicant will need to have an appropriate engineering qualification or equivalent knowledge and be a member (or eligible for membership) of the Register of Clinical Technologists.
