Specialist Clinician

Ref: 321-MRC-B7-SC-SDS

Location: Oxford

Hours: 24 hrs/week, 15 month fixed term contract (maternity leave cover)

Salary: Band 7 (pro-rata)

Organisation: Specialist Disability Service - Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust

Closing Date: 04/10/2020

Applications are invited for the post of Specialist Clinician (maternity cover) for the Specialist Disability Service (SDS) at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The service specialises in assessing for, and then providing, equipment that will improve the level of autonomy and/or reduce the stress on carers of people with highly complex disability.

The role would suit a qualified occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or clinical scientist with suitable experience. This is an exciting opportunity to act as a Specialist Clinician for SDS, providing a specialist tertiary clinical assessment service for patients with complex disabilities referred from both local and national agencies, and across a variety of settings.

The postholder will carry a clinical caseload, working both autonomously and as part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, advice, recommendations, and provision of equipment to patients referred to the service, with a particular focus on 24-hours posture management. This will involve working with the Rehabilitation Engineering Department within the Oxford Centre for Enablement, and with external companies/contractors.
