Clinical Lead

Location: Kent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £44,606.00 - £50,819.00

We are looking for a clinical lead to join the team at our Kent Wheelchair Service Centre based in Gillingham. We are a fast growing business and a  provider of healthcare service solutions including wheelchair services. We work closely with NHS and social care organisations providing a complete outsourced wheelchair service that aims to significantly reduce costs, deliver better quality and an enhanced patient experience.

Our mission is to provide a service that aims to ensure all service users receive the care, assessment and mobility equipment at the time they require it to enable them to achieve their and their families’ goals.

About the role

Responsible for providing leadership and the clinical aspect of the service that provides the assessment and provision of specialist seating and wheelchairs to all service users. Responsible for managing and supervising the development of a clinical team from a range of disciplines including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, working alongside rehabilitation engineers and their assistants. Leading the service in developing and building on relationships with key stakeholders and the third party sector in the local area.

What are we looking for in a Clinical Lead?

Minimum 5 years post registration experience in the physical field working with patients with long-term and deteriorating medical conditions, including palliative care, and an understanding of the impact of these conditions on patients' lives. 

A BSc degree or diploma in occupational therapy or physiotherapy.

Current HCPC/NMC registration.

Previous experience of working as an occupational therapist/physiotherapist/nurse at AFC Band 7/8a.

Experience of staff supervision and appraisals.

Previous experience of working in a wheelchair service is preferred but not essential if you have experience in related fields such as neurology, paediatrics and equipment provision.

Current full UK driving licence is essential – minimum of 3 years.

Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills combined with the ability to manage a varied workload are also a must for this exciting position.

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who’s keen to balance their experience of managing a customer focused service with a clinical case load.
