The Specialist Disability Service (SDS) is a specialist service for the management of people with complex disabilities. We work with the person, adopting a problem-solving approach, to meet their needs. Our aim is to maximise their quality of life and independence by providing comprehensive assessment, advice, information and recommendations for equipment solutions. Our areas of expertise include specialist seating, 24-hour postural management and electronic assistive technology.
This is an exciting opportunity to act as a specialist clinician for SDS, carrying a clinical caseload as part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment, advice, recommendations and provision of equipment to people having complex disabilities, with particular reference to 24-hour posture management, computer access and environmental controls. All these activities include working in and outside of the Trust, across the UK and in a range of environments.
