Clinical Lead Wheelchair Therapist

Location: Northamptonshire

Hours: 37.50

Salary: NHS Band 7 Equivalent

Organisation: Blatchford Ltd

Closing Date: 01/02/2024

We now have a great opportunity for a clinical lead wheelchair therapist to join our service in Northamptonshire where you'll drive delivery of our clinical service to a variety of users throughout the county.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity where you change the lives of service users every single day! With a varied caseload and the opportunity to develop your skills in a niche sector, wheelchair therapy is an excellent next step for physiotherapists, OTs or REs.

As clinical lead, you'll lead our team of therapists, all of whom use their specialist skills and clinical reasoning to manage a caseload of service users, assessing, planning and implementing treatment regimens for patients. You’ll provide operational and clinical advice to them, also to the multi-disciplinary team, and to service users and their carers to encourage participation in the management of their condition.

You’ll play an active role in developing and promoting the wheelchair service by monitoring and evaluating systems to ensure that we maintain and develop the quality of the service.

To be successful, you'll be: • An excellent communicator • Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues within and outside wheelchair services • Flexible and innovative in your approach • Have strong organisation, prioritisation and decision-making skills. You'll also have a positive approach, and be able to motivate, lead and inspire others and ‘get stuck in’ with the hands-on aspects of wheelchair therapy.

Experience of working as a wheelchair therapist would be beneficial; however, we’re happy to see applications from therapists of different disciplines who've worked in manual therapy and are looking to move into wheelchairs. You must be degree qualified in a therapeutic discipline and be HCPC registered. We offer a competitive package, excellent benefits and the opportunity to work as an integral part of a developing service.
