Clinical lead

Location: Hampshire

Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (37.5hrs)

Salary: In line with current NHS pay scales - Band 8a

We are looking for a clinical lead to join the team at our Hampshire wheelchair service centre. Millbrook Healthcare on behalf of the NHS CCG(s) ensures that service users receive the wheelchair equipment they require to meet their clinical mobility needs, as determined by the clinical team, following referral to the service.

We are a fast growing business and provider of healthcare service solutions including wheelchair services. We work closely with NHS and social care organisations, providing a complete outsourced wheelchair service. Our mission is to provide a unique service that will ensure all service users receive the care, assessment and mobility equipment at the time they require it to enable them to achieve theirs and their families’ goals.

About the role:

Provides clinical leadership, expertise and innovation to the wheelchair clinical team, who will come from a background of occupational herapy, physiotherapy, clinical support and rehabilitation engineering

Provides the clinical input for all service users, their families and carers, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team supporting the user

Provides the links between service users and other teams such as wheelchair skills training

Develops links with “hard to reach” sectors of the local community by close liaison with the referrers, particularly local therapists.

What are we looking for in a clinical lead?

Minimum 5 years post registration experience in the physical field, working with patients with long-term and deteriorating medical conditions, including palliative care and an understanding of the impact of these conditions on patients' lives

A BSc degree or diploma in occupational therapy or physiotherapy

Current HCPC/NMC registration

Previous experience of working as an occupational therapist/physiotherapist/nurse at AFC Band 7/8a

Experience of staff supervision and appraisals

Previous experience of working in a wheelchair service is preferred, but not essential if you have experience in related fields such as neurology, paediatrics and equipment provision

Current full UK driving licence is essential – minimum of 3 years

Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills combined with the ability to manage a varied workload are also a must for this exciting position

We’re looking for a highly motivated individual who’s keen to balance their experience of managing a customer focused service with a clinical case load
