Mobility Therapist

Location: Tower Hamlets, East London

Hours: 35

Salary: Equivalent to band 6/7 depending on experience.

Organisation: Whizz-Kidz

Closing Date: 29/11/2020

We are looking for a motivated, flexible and passionate individual, ideally with previous experience in the field, or otherwise keen to transfer their clinical skills and knowledge into a new setting.

Previous wheelchair service experience is not required, but clinical experience in either neurology, paediatrics or community work would allow you to utilise transferable skills. Development of knowledge in the equipment used will be well supported by the senior clinical and engineering team. A position with the team offers an opportunity to develop your clinical skills in all areas of postural and mobility assessments, and related equipment prescription.

You will work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the effective management of a delegated caseload. A flexible but organised approach is required to meet the varied needs of all children and adults referred to the Tower Hamlets wheelchair service. Clinicians within the service are responsible for the holistic assessment and prescription of buggies, standard and active user wheelchairs, specialist wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs, associated postural seating and custom made seating. If successfully recruited you will be working for a young and vibrant organisation, which embraces innovation and change to provide good outcomes for all our clients.

Working for Whizz-Kidz, you will also be able to access our generous range of benefits, including a pension scheme, private healthcare options, season ticket loans, and additional Christmas leave on top of annual leave, plus length of service awards of money and extra days off. Please contact Louise Viner, Clinical Team Lead on 07384 835931 or email l.viner@whizz-kidz.org.uk for an informal discussion, job description and person specification. First interview date: 8/12/2020
