Rehabilitation Engineer Technician

Location: Prosthetic & Wheelchair centre

Hours: 37.5

Salary: Band 5

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a rehabilitation engineer/technician to join our team in providing specialist services to people of all ages who require wheelchairs, special seating, prosthetic limbs and associated equipment. The role involves attendance at clinics, users' homes, day centres, and other wheelchair services within the Merseyside area, to provide technical support and advice regarding the provision and adaptation of mobility equipment to suit the individual user’s needs.

Team work with the consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, therapists, prosthetists and other health care professionals, is an essential aspect of the role. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent organisational and communication skills and is able to work as part of a team as well as independently using their own initiative.

There is a minimum requirement for the post holder to have professional engineering knowledge to degree equivalent level acquired through City & Guilds Certificate or BTEC National Diploma, together with experience of working in the engineering industry or in a relevant health care setting (see person specification for further information).

Candidates appointed may have an opportunity to progress to Band 6 following successful completion of relevant training.

The ability to travel plus access to a vehicle suitable for transporting equipment are also required.
