AJM Healthcare is an established provider of wheelchair services to the NHS and private sector. We provide an integrated, outsourced wheelchair service to NHS commissioners, designed to improve quality and provide a superior service user experience while reducing costs.

The role:
We are pleased to announce an opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Rehabilitation Engineering Assistant to join our Integrated Wheelchair Service (assessment, engineering and approved repairer staff all working in one service). You would be working from our service centre based in Park Royal and the successful applicant will provide engineering input to the delivery of wheelchair, seating systems and associated assistive technology, based on the specific needs of the client and their environment.

A driving licence is desirable, as the job requires travel throughout the area and a vehicle is provided to facilitate this. The job may on occasion involve providing cover for other staff of the rehabilitation engineering team.

Who we are looking for:
Preferably, you should hold an honours degree in engineering/applied science or equivalent and have demonstrable experience and proven knowledge in the industry or within healthcare. Prior experience in rehabilitation engineering is desirable. In addition to your qualifications and experience in engineering, you will need a sympathetic approach to patients and be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal empathetically with service users, relatives and carers are paramount in this position, and you will receive professional guidance from the Clinical and Service Leads.

What we offer you:

  • A competitive salary in line with the NHS Agenda for Change pay bands as well as offering London Weighting
  • Employer contributions into a NHS pension and existing NHS pension
  • Company mobile phone and tablet
  • Competitive annual leave allocation
  • Company vehicles provided for visits

The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop to their maximum potential, in an environment that is fully supported and committed to ongoing development. You would benefit from working in a technologically advanced and dynamic environment. Change is coming to NHS wheelchair provision and you could be part of that change.

As an independent company we believe that every member of staff contributes to our continued success. All our employees can expect to receive on-going training and development in the form of new starter inductions, on the job training, in-house training and external training.

We believe that equality is key for achieving our mission to provide the best healthcare service for people in their homes and in their community in collaboration with the NHS.
