Clinical Lead - Specialist Wheelchair Service

Job title: Clinical Lead – Specialist Wheelchair Service

Grade: Band 8a

We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Clinical Scientist to join our team of therapists, Rehabilitation Engineers and administrative staff at the Specialist Wheelchair Service for central London. Operating from excellent bases in West London and Edgware, which offer high specification facilities to both service users and staff, we provide long term NHS wheeled mobility to adults and children in Barnet, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea and Hammersmith & Fulham. As Clinical Lead, you would work across both sites.

With post-qualification experience in the specialty, you will clinically lead a specialist team of therapy staff, working in close collaboration with Rehab Engineers and external providers, taking overall responsibility for the assessment, management and evaluation of evidence based intervention. Essential for this role are experience in complex prescription of wheelchairs, postural seating and pressure relieving equipment, knowledge of wheelchairs as medical devices, focus on quality of service provision as well as clinical effectiveness, as well as the ability to deal empathetically with service users, family and carers.
