Bursary Criteria

PMG NTE Bursary Fund & Conditions for Provision

1. Scope

The NTE bursary fund was established to fund a small number of PMG members to attend  PMG conferences. These bursaries are offered in compliance with PMG’s primary function, which is to provide and promote the education and training of rehabilitation professionals.

2. Fund

The PMG Finance Sub-Committee shall recommend to the PMG Execcutive Committee the value of the bursary fund on an annual basis. The value of the bursary fund shall be determined by, and be dependent on, PMG’s overall funds. The PMG Executive Committee shall review and approve the value of the NTE bursary fund.

3. Administration

Once approved by the NTE sub-committee, bursaries shall be organised by PMG administration.  The PMG Publications & Marketing sub-committee shall monitor the conditions of provision.

4. PMG Bursary Fund in 2012

The PMG bursary fund will be offering 3 grants in the form of full attendance fee, and 4 half bursaries, for the PMG NTE at Warwick university, 11th-13th April 2012.

Bursars will cover their own travel expenses.

5. Conditions of Bursary Provision : Successful applicants will be required to - 
 
i) attend the two full days of the conference, 12th and 13th April 2012. 

ii)  write a report of approximately 1,000 words on one of the sessions attended at the conference, the report to be submitted within a month of the conference for publication in volume 29:1 of the PMG journal.

6. Bursary Applicants - general criteria
 
a. Only paid up members of the PMG may apply.
b. Preference will be given to 1st time attendees.
c. Preference will be given to newly qualified applicants.
d. Preference will be given to those members new to the field of posture & mobility.
e. Normally, bursaries will not be awarded to PMG members working in the same department/service.
f. Only applications made using the PMG NTE Application Form with supporting letter from the applicant’s supervisor/manager will be considered.  Supporting letters to be sent to:

7. Adjudication Panel:  applications shall be judged by the NTE Sub-Committee.  If any conflict of interest arises between a member of the panel and one of the applicants, then that panel member shall not participate in the adjudication process.

8. Successful Applicants

a. Successful applicants shall be notified by the PMG Administrator and be provided with all relevant information in the bursary offer letter;
b. If the successful applicant fails to adhere to the conditions of provision, then the bursary will be withdrawn.

9. Closing Date

The closing date for bursary applications is 31st January 2012.
