Jo Jex
Active Design Ltd
Proposer: Terry Pountney
Seconder: K D Barton
Jo is an experienced paediatric physiotherapist who has worked with children with disabilities for many years. She has worked in a variety of settings, clinically and, more recently, within the commercial setting, providing education and support for a range of clinicians using postural management. This gives her an insight into how posture and mobility work in different settings and how PMG can support its members. Jo has excellent clinical and communication skills. She continues to engage in acquiring new knowledge and skills, has completed modules at master’s level, and is a clinical educator.
Martin Moore
Senior Rehabilitation Engineer, Wheelchair & Special Seating Service, Bristol DSC
Proposer: Geoff Iles
Seconder: Richard Pearse
I have worked at the Wheelchair and Seating Service in Bristol for over 12 years as a Rehabilitation Engineer covering all aspects of wheelchair and seating provision. I have been an active member of the PMG committee for two terms and am the current vice-chair (due to stand down at the 2008 AGM). I feel that I still have a valuable contribution to make to the committee as a whole and also to the sub-committees on which I sit. As a member of the NTE and Education sub-committees I have been part of teams that have organised some excellent training days and NTE’s, and would relish the opportunity to continue this work.
Clare Wright
Clinical Research Manager, James Leckey Design Ltd
Proposer: David Porter
Seconder: James Leckey
Qualified in 1994 from University of Ulster as an occupational therapist, I have ten years’ clinical expertise in community paediatrics, with managerial responsibility for five of these. I have qualitative research skills in a posture and mobility related topic with a Master in Clinical Research award pending, and am a co-opted member of the PMG R&D sub-committee. Currently, as clinical research manager for a leading design and manufacturing company, I have also acquired a business viewpoint. Combined with this unique experience, I believe my innovative approach and enthusiastic attitude would bring a valuable perspective and contribution to the work of PMG.
